Green Frog Productions, and Neff Video Productions, bring you:CSX TOLEDO SUB, PART 3 (Cridersville, OH. to Leipsic, OH.)
This installment of the CSX Toledo Sub covers the line from Cridersville Ohio to Leipsic Ohio. Other locations include historic Lima Ohio, DT&I Jct, Cairo, Columbus Grove and Ottawa.
You’ll see the brown field where once stood the Lima Locomotive Works which was known first for the Shay logging locomotives and later the Super Power Locomotives. Three famous engines were built here including three that are still in operation: NKP 765, Pere Marquette 1225, and the SP Daylight 4449.
Witness a temporary shoo-fly operation near Erie Jct in the south end of Lima. See brand new signal masts at Eureka Street. Observe the once famous diamond where the old B&O Cincinnati to Detroit and the Pennsylvania’s Pittsburgh to Chicago mainlines crossed. See the beautifully restored Pennsy Depot near the diamond.
Watch a pacing sequence of a CSX northbound freight between Columbus Grove and Ottawa.
And finally visit Leipsic Jct. where the action is intense with Norfolk-Southern and CSX providing the activity for this fast developing industrial area of North West Ohio.
