CASS & MOWER-LOGGING TRAINS
Carl Franz has been showing off logging trains on the Cass for over 20 years. In cooperation with the Cass Scenic Railroad of West Virginia, he has run logging trains through the woods, up switchbacks, and with double headed trains!
The Spectaculars ran in spring, fall and winter. Carl, along with his friend Robert Flack, captured some of the most fantastic material ever shot of logging trains on 16mm film.
There are NO tourist trains in these shots...just logging trains! In addition, this DVD includes more than 15 minutes of film from the predecessor to the Cass, the Mower Lumber Company. 88 Minutes

STEEL RAILS-PRIVATE VARNISH VOLUME 1
Private railway cars, once the exclusive domain of the rich and famous, came together in October, 1994. They gathered at Chicago to be made up into a colorful train of private varnish to run to St. Louis's grand restored Union Station.
Once they were in the Gateway City, nearly two dozen of the cars, together for the convention of the American Association of Private Railroad Car Owners, Inc., were opened to the public.
Green Frog was there. In the air. On the ground. At trackside. Inside the cars. Behind the scenes. In the kitchens. In the dining rooms. In the lounges. In the domes. In the sleeping sections.
STEEL RAILS-PRIVATE VARNISH VOLUME 2
You will see only the runbys and the aerial shots of the special train as it makes its way from Chicago to St. Louis, and back to Chicago.
