Ride along with videographer Chase Freeman as he takes us back into the hollers of coal country to explore Norfolk Southern's busy lines in Southern West Virginia, Southwestern Virginia, and Eastern Kentucky.
This series has everything the old Pocahontas Division has to offer from double stack trains and time freights on the Pokey Main, to coal trains easing along on one of the numerous branch lines. You'll see trains on the western end of the Christiansburg District, Pokey Main, the far eastern tip of the Kenova District, the Buchanan Branch, the Levisa Branch, the Clinch Valley District, the Clinch Valley Extension, and the Glamorgan Branch.
This program was filmed over the course of two years in every kind of weather from scorching summer heat to winter snow. You'll see a wide variety of motive power including run through power from BNSF, CP, UP, and CSX as well as heritage units from NS and CP.
