The Louisville & Indiana Railroad
The LIRC line is a 106 mile stretch of track that runs between Louisville, Ky and Indianapolis, Ind. It was purchased from Conrail in 1994 and was former Pennsylvania Railroad line. It began operations on March 12th, 1994 and was formed by parent company Anacostia and Pacific Co., Inc. one of the leading regional railroad firms in the U.S.
The LIRC connects with the CSX, SIND, INRD, NS and Paducah and Louisville Railroads. Major customers are Carter Lumber, Essroc Cement (Former Louisville Cement Company), Consolidated Grain and Barge Company, Genpak plastics, Ranger Enterprises, Kokomo Grain and Voss Industries.
Lots of varied action and a good mix of Vintage Power in this Two Disc Set.
