The date was November 21, 1992 and Union Pacific 4-6-6-4 “Challenger” class has traveled from Wyoming to make a one-time recreation of the old Clinchfield Railroad “Challenger” number 676.
You will see heartwarming and fun views of toys and candy being thrown from the rear platform by Santa and his helpers as the train travels south-ward through Kentucky, Virginia, and into Tennessee.
Also see some of the preparations in Kingsport before the trip, and learn some of the history of the big steam engine that pulled this historic train.
