RIDE ALONG for an unforgettable train trip in the wild mountains of West Virginia on the POTOMAC EAGLE EXCURSION TRAIN. Vintage 1950-era diesel locomotives power this scenic train along the South Branch of the Potomac River, into a deep gorge known as the Trough.
Besides the train ride, patrons are usually treated to the sight of one or more of the rare American Bald Eagles that nest in the Trough section within sight of the train. Our cameras show on-board the train, including Classic Club Dining service, plus views of the train in the magnificent West Virginia Scenery. Fall colors are depicted along the routes on beautiful sunny days.
Through special arrangement with the operators of the train we bring you rare views in remote areas of the Trough that are seldom seen. The original production made in 1995, is enhanced with an additional 30 minutes of updated scenes from 1999-2005 which includes everything from publicity scenes to Civil War reenactments, and of course more eagles. There is even a fun music video to enjoy as well.
The Potomac Eagle is perhaps the most scenic tourist train ride in the Eastern United States!
