This show set is packed with power and operations from the American West! We begin by heading west to California from Illinois - bringing you some marvelous freight action along the way. You'll see fast paced, beautiful photography of historic freight service across the country. You’ll see action on the Santa Fe, Burlington Northern, Soo Line, Southern Pacific, Union Pacific and Utah Railway. In this lavish production Green Frog brings you great railroading presented by renowned railfan videographer Steve Neff using fascinating broadcast quality equipment. We'll see Pig Trains sprawled across the Midwest, helper action in the mountains, and classic scenes at Soldier Summit, Winterpark, Moffat Tunnel, and Feather River Canyon.

In the second half of our show takes you through the plains of the Midwest, and then into the Colorado Rockies where you’ll see fast paced action on Colorado’s Joint Line. This is the line where the Rio Grande - at this time the Southern Pacific - the Burlington Northern plus the Santa Fe share trackage rights. Then we’ll take you up the "Moffat Tunnel Route" into Utah where you’ll see exciting freight action - including how helper locomotives are placed in the middle of these long freights and how these mid-train helpers help the railroad overcome the challenges of this line. You’ll follow action through scenic locations such as Helper, Castle Rock, and Soldier Summit, Then we’ll take you into Nevada and the Sierras for more mountain railroad action.
