Cincinnati, Ohio is home to a diverse group of shortline railroads. In parts 1-4 of our Cincinnati Shortlines series, we covered the Indiana & Ohio’s Oasis, Midland, Blue Ash, Mason, and Lebanon subdivisions. We also covered the Cincinnati East Terminal Railway.
In part-5 of our Cincinnati Shortlines series, we’ll cover the Central Railroad Company of Indiana’s CIND & Brookville Subs. The CIND Sub, a former New York Central Big Four route, connected Cincinnati & Indianapolis, Indiana.
In this program we’ll see primarily freight traffic between Cincinnati and the Honda plant in Greensburg, Indiana. Passenger trains operated by the Cincinnati Railway also make an appearance. We’ll conclude with a trip aboard an Ohio Rail Experience excursion along River Road, and a climb up Guilford Hill.
